This session will present (and solicit) creative solutions to jurisdictions without a Veteran court or with limited access to VA Healthcare services, including: – Veteran tracks of existing treatment courts – Prison/jail efforts (such as Veteran dorms) – Law Enforcement Efforts (such as Veteran response teams) – Partnering with County, State, and other Veteran resources, including the use of VA Community Care Options – Civil Legal assistance (such as Medical Legal Partnerships) – VA Support services via the Veteran Justice Programs outside of the treatment court context WATCP members/conference attendees are potentially well-positioned to influence their jurisdictions in starting these “brother and sister” interventions/programs that can impact justice-involved Veteran outcomes, may lead to the establishment of future Veteran treatment tracks/courts, or may even augment already existing Veteran treatment courts.
